Vehicle Identified in Fatal Fail to Remain Collision

Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau have identified the vehicle involved in a fatal hit and run collision that occurred in the area of Dixie Road and Lakeshore Road East in the City of Mississauga.

On January 31, 2020, at around 6:40 a.m., Penny Cousard, a 45 year-old woman from Mississauga, was operating an electric mobility wheelchair, north on Dixie Road in the southbound bicycle lane.

The driver of a 2014 black Honda Civic with Ontario licence plates CKCX 123, was travelling southbound on Dixie Road when they struck and killed the victim and proceeded to leave the scene.  The vehicle will have extensive front end damage.

Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau are urging the driver of the suspected vehicle to contact a lawyer and turn themselves in.

Police Appeal for Witnesses in Cemetery Thefts

Peel Regional Police are seeking assistance from the public as they investigate thefts from cemeteries that occurred in the City of Mississauga.

Police are looking to identify suspect(s) involved in thefts of bronze vases from Mount Peace Cemetery, St. Mary’s Cemetery and Assumption Cemetery. A total of 269 vases were stolen valued at approximately $67,250.00, these thefts occurred between April 7, 2018 and September 24, 2018.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses, who may have observed incident or any persons who may have video surveillance. Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to contact 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau at (905) 453-2121, ext. 1233. Arrest Made In Lakefront Promenade Sexual Assault Investigation

Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Special Victims Unit are seeking assistance from the public in relation to sexual assaults in the area of Lakefront Promenade and Lakeshore Road East in the City of Mississauga.

On Monday, October 8th, 2018 at 5 p.m., an adult female was sexually assaulted by an individual on a bicycle along the pathway within Lakefront Promenade in Mississauga.  Investigation has revealed that the same individual is believed to be responsible for a separate sexual assault at this location that occurred several days prior.

On Monday, October 8th, 2018, Jonathan Flynn, a 31-year-old male from Toronto, was arrested and charged with two counts of Sexual Assault and one count of Assault with a Weapon and held in custody pending a bail hearing. 

Investigators believe that this individual may have committed similar acts in this area and ask anyone with information to contact Peel Regional Police.
